Day 19- National Park Tour: Colorado Springs

Saturday, July 23, 2016

Headed south after a slow morning. Drove for miles and miles. Missed turns, mixed up round-a-bouts, and such. Ended up in Colorado Springs at an REI to replace lost/broken silver(plastic)ware... at a Garage Sale. $150 and silverware later, we found a laundromat, and Pumpkin's greatest attitude to date. She missed out on fancy drinks and didn't get her clothes dried with the rest; when you tell mom she's mean and doesn't do anything for you and then refuses to have a conversation about the rude attitude, you learn how to hang your clothes to dry in the hotel.

The EcoLodge had a nice room but the rest of the building was fairly run down! The kids and I showered and watched a few Disney movies. When the aunt and cousins arrived, we didn't even settle in together before heading to downtown Colorado Springs for Bar-B-Q. A place featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The line was so long that we wandered down the street a number of blocks and then settled on Jorge's for Mexican food. The burrito as excellent, everything else was good enough. But the margaritas! Holy Bugumba were they strong and delicious! Back to the hotel where one person showered and everyone went right to sleep.
