First and foremost... Hello and Welcome! For my first post, I'll describe a typical weekend. It will give you a better idea of who we are and how our life functions... 'functions' being a relative term...
Saturday:
7am cuddles in my bed from both Pumpkin, my 6-year-old, and Chuck Roast, my 3-year-old. Both are boys so 'cuddles' is also a relative term. It was much more bouncy and painful than regular cuddling. We spent some time watching pole videos on YouTube. I showed them soon-to-be-friend Abbey's amazing Not So Serious routine. Pumpkin points out how amazing her pole moves are while Chuck Roast points out how beautiful she is. And she certainly is both in every possible way.
Breakfast of yogurt and fruit for the boys was next, a Mountain Dew for me, then we were off to do some quick errands and Lowe's for their free Build & Grow pull-back car making event. We ran into two friends, which made the event that much more enjoyable!
Dropped the boys off at my friend Florida's house and headed off to set up for Abbey's workshop with Frestyl Fitness at the studio space we rent from Empowered Wellness. We were all very glad to have pants and leggings because I forgot to turn up the thermostat when I got there! The workshop was amazing and we learned to never let go and use our hips!
Chinese dinner with some of the lovely Frestyl ladies and Abbey. It was then that I realized we were welcoming a new member to our Rochester Frestyl family :)
Florida's house was crazy, as any house is with 4 young children all afternoon, but everyone was happy. We came up with a list of necessary items to pack for her upcoming trip back to Florida for a few days and got some last minute chatting out of the way and our glasses of wine were a wonderful way to end a busy day.
Sunday:
It started at 7:10am when my friend dropped off her twin 3-year-olds that I watch almost every Sunday, 7am-8pm. So that makes my house crazy loud with 3 3-year-olds and a 6-year-old working on 'leadership' skills.
The morning was great! They played in the nicely unfinished basement, a.k.a. the playroom, all morning. Leftover Chinese BBQ and noodles for lunch and all three little ones napped :) My 3-year-old, Pumpkin, my oldest boy, read books and then helped me make some toothpaste and brownies after my first postgrad assignment was submit online. My youngest, Chuck Roast, woke up first and was miserable because I removed a loose eyelash that was hanging in his lashes and apparently blinded him for the next 45 minutes.
I am a horrible mother. Let's just put that out there right now.
All 4 kids were fed a brownie and sent outside for the rest of the afternoon. They came in, read a number of books. I sit here watching them read and moving onto coloring as chicken and sweet potatoes, modified from the recipe, cook.
They will eat dinner and then I will put them all to bed as soon as possible! I still have a postgrad paper to write, a quiz to take, and laundry to fold. Also, I need to be in bed early because I'm fighting off an icky bug going around at school :(
